What Silver Coins & Bars We Buy

American Silver Eagles

The most widely traded silver bullion coin in the United States. We buy both bullion and proof Silver Eagles — any year, any quantity.

Silver Bars

Silver bars from any recognized refinery — Sunshine Mint, Engelhard, Johnson Matthey, PAMP, NTR, and others — in any size from 1 oz to 100 oz.

Silver Rounds

Generic silver rounds (1 oz and fractional) from any private mint. Rounds carry a smaller premium over spot than Silver Eagles, and we price accordingly.

U.S. 90% Silver Coins

Pre-1965 U.S. dimes, quarters, half dollars, and silver dollars — commonly called 'junk silver' or 'constitutional silver.' We buy by the bag or by the roll.

Morgan & Peace Dollars

Classic U.S. silver dollars from 1878 to 1935. Common dates are priced on silver content; key dates and better-condition coins may carry a numismatic premium.

Other World Silver Coins

Canadian Silver Maple Leafs, Austrian Silver Philharmonics, Mexican Silver Libertads, British Silver Britannias, and other government-minted silver bullion coins.

Silver Commemoratives

U.S. Mint silver commemorative coins and modern proof sets with silver content. We value these on silver weight unless a strong collector market applies.

90% Silver Proof Sets & Mint Sets

Annual U.S. Mint silver proof sets and silver premier proof sets. We separate and price the silver pieces on current spot.

How We Price Silver Coins & Bars

Silver Eagles Carry a Premium

American Silver Eagles trade at a premium over raw silver spot because of their guaranteed government purity (.999 fine), legal tender status, and collector and investor demand. Our offer reflects a portion of that real-world premium — not just melt value.

Rounds Price Closer to Spot

Generic silver rounds are .999 fine silver, but they carry less secondary-market demand than government-minted coins. We price rounds closer to spot with a smaller premium than Eagles.

Bars: Weight and Refinery Matter

Silver bars are valued primarily on weight and fineness. Bars from well-known refineries (Engelhard, Johnson Matthey, PAMP) are more liquid and may attract a slightly better offer than obscure or private-label bars.

Condition and Packaging

Coins in original mint packaging, slabbed by PCGS or NGC, or in clearly uncirculated condition typically attract better offers. We evaluate each lot individually.

Spot at Time of Offer

All offers are calculated against the live silver spot price at the time of evaluation. Silver moves daily — contact us before visiting for the current range.

Silver Eagles vs. Rounds vs. Bars

American Silver Eagles

Struck by the U.S. Mint from .999 fine silver. Each coin contains exactly one troy ounce of silver. Eagles carry a government guarantee of weight and purity and command the highest premium of any silver bullion coin — typically $2–5 over spot at retail. We offer a fair portion of that premium.

Generic Silver Rounds

Privately minted .999 fine silver rounds. They contain the same silver as an Eagle but lack the government backing and broad investor recognition. Rounds trade at a smaller premium — usually $0.50–2 over spot — and we price them accordingly.

Silver Bars

The most efficient way to hold silver by weight. Larger bars (10 oz, 100 oz) carry the smallest premium per ounce. Bars from major refineries are easy to resell and tend to attract our best per-ounce offers for pure-weight lots.

How to Get Started

1

Describe What You Have

Call or email us with a description of your coins or bars — type (Eagles, bars, 90% silver), quantity, and approximate total weight if you have it. We'll give you a preliminary range based on current spot before you drive over or ship anything.

2

Schedule an Appointment or Ship Insured

Local customers visit our Chesapeake, VA office by appointment. Customers elsewhere in the United States can ship items insured and fully described — we accept both methods equally.

3

We Evaluate & Make an Offer

We verify each coin or bar, weigh the lot, and calculate an offer based on the live silver spot price at time of evaluation. The offer is itemized so you understand exactly what each category is worth. No obligation to accept.

Selling Sterling Silver Too?

If you have sterling silver alongside your coins and bars, bring it all. We also buy sterling silver flatware, silver jewelry, serving items and hollowware, and gold. We sort and price each category separately so nothing gets lumped together or overlooked.

Not sure whether a coin is silver or silver-plated? Bring it — we identify it for free, with no obligation to sell.
